Clippers Central: December Recap

The Clippers’ first game last month was on December 1st at Frank Crane Arena, where they took on the Powell River Kings. After a quick goal by Kyle Kramer, the teddy bears came flying but from there, the Kings got three unanswered goals. In the third, the Clippers were looking to come back but the Kings stopped them to win 4-3.

The following Sunday the Clippers were in action against the Surrey Eagles. The Eagles got on the board in only 38 seconds with a goal by Demico Hannoun but from there, the Clippers swept the board getting three unanswered goals, followed by another two for a 5-2 win. Fretz, Fitzgerald, Forbes, Kramer and McNicholas scored Nanaimo’s goals.

The Clippers then went on a road trip weekend, first facing off against the Chiefs and losing 3-0 after 20 minutes in penalties, and then losing to the Penticton Vees 5-2. Josh Bryan and Greg Fraser scored the only two Clipper goals.

In the last game before Christmas break, the Clippers took on the Trail Smoke Eaters and with a little help from Santa’s elves, beat Trail 4-1. Greg Fraser scored two goals, AP Tanner Burns added one and Austin Dick had one on the powerplay.

December’s outstanding player was Greg Fraser. Greg may only have scored 2 goals in the month but his physical side of the game was needed.

The Clippers start the New Year with ten games in January. For more information visit http://www.NanaimoClippers.com.
